The 78th death anniversary of Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was observed on Friday with great veneration and solemnity, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In this connection, special ceremony of Quran Khawani and Fateha was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam in Karachi.
To mark the day, various programmes have been arranged by educational institutions and political, social and cultural organizations shedding light on the personality and leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
President, PM, Interior Minister pay tribute
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have paid rich tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 78th death anniversary.
In their separate messages, they highlighted the Quaid-e-Azam's visionary leadership, constitutional struggle and tireless efforts for the rights of the Muslims of the subcontinent that led to the creation of Pakistan.
The President said the Quaid's principles of unity, discipline, constitutional continuity, equality before law and democratic processes provide guidance to the nation in overcoming present-day challenges.
He called upon the people, particularly the youth, to follow Quaid-e-Azam's example of courage, perseverance and confidence, and work for a stronger, peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
Prime Minister said best way to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam's enduring legacy is to work together for the promotion of national unity, social harmony and economic stability, so that a country truly reflecting the vision, ideals and principles of the great leader could be bequeathed to future generations.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a glowing tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his monumental struggle.
In his message, Mohsin Naqvi said Quaid-e-Azam gifted the nation an ideology, political consciousness, and a sovereign state.
Mohsin Naqvi said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s struggle for independence is a shining chapter in our national history.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah led the Muslims of the subcontinent out of servitude and guided them to the destination of a sovereign homeland, Mohsin Naqvi said.
He said as a result of Quaid-e-Azam’s unparalleled leadership, Pakistan emerged on the world map as an independent state.
Mohsin Naqvi said Quaid’s personality embodied a rare blend of lofty character, truthfulness in speech, and steadfastness in action—qualities seldom seen in history.
Despite illness and frailty, his courage and resolve led the nation to its goal, Mohsin Naqvi said.
He said Quaid-e-Azam was a staunch champion of minority rights and viewed the state as a sacred trust of the people.
Faith, Unity, and Discipline—these constitute Jinnah’s true legacy and the very soul of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi said.
He said Pakistan’s progress and prosperity lie in adhering to the principles of Quaid-e-Azam.
