Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) from Sahiwal met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Friday and discussed a raft of issues with her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The delegation included Wilayat Shah, Qasim Nadeem, Arshad Malik, Nadeem Aslam Lodhi, Rana Riaz Ahmed, and Muhammad Hanif.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced provision of 14 additional electric buses for Sahiwal soon.
Maryam Nawaz directed MPAs to closely monitor the quality and transparency of ongoing development projects in Sahiwal.
Provincial assembly members hailed the beautification of Sahiwal city as a magnificent and historic initiative.
MPAs commended the development projects for small and large cities as well as villages under the Punjab Development Project.
MPAs expressed gratitude for the initiative to establish 10 state-of-the-art 'Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence' in the Sahiwal Division.
Appreciation expressed for sewerage and drainage projects in Sahiwal and other cities.
MPAs said for the first time, focus is being placed on resolving the genuine issues faced by the public.
Electric bus services covering the Arifwala Bypass, Yousafwala, Noor Shah, KFC Bypass, General Bus Stand to Kameer, Adda Sabeel, and Bala Mor are providing convenience to thousands of people, MPAs said.
Talking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that development projects have been extended beyond major cities to the village level.
Children from both poor and wealthy backgrounds will have equal opportunities for progress in 'Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence', Maryam Nawaz said.
She said the standards of 'Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence' will be on par with any top-tier private school.
