Members of a polio vaccination team were beaten black and blue for administering drops to children in Islamabad’s F9 Park on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Margalla police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

According to the text of the FIR lodged by polio worker Ameer Hamza, he along with his colleague Fayyaz were on duty in F9 Park and administered oath to children who came with their families in the park.

In the meanwhile, five men came there asked them with whose permission they were administering polio drops to the kids, the FIR said, adding they then snatched polio cards from them and started beating them.

The attackers were identified as Usman, Abdullah, Waqas and two other unidentified people. They were accused of interfering with the official work and snatching official cards from the workers.
