Three young labourers have died in a tragic incident in the village of Paloski in Darazanda tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan after consuming a sweet dish during work on a mountain site, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to initial reports, the men fell ill after eating halwa while engaged in labour on a hillside. Two of the victims died at the scene, while a third succumbed to his condition while being transported to hospital.
The incident has caused widespread concern in the area, with locals expressing shock over the sudden deaths. The deceased have been identified as belonging to the family of Haji Jamal Khan Karamzai.
Hospital sources confirmed the identities of the victims as Sheran Khan, Fatah Muhammad and Noor Muhammad. Their bodies have been transferred to Mufti Mehmood Hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities have launched further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, as questions remain over the nature of the food consumed and whether it may have been contaminated.
