Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Sunday that the US delegation at last failed to win the trust of Iran’s delegation during the talks held in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He said that the USA had now understood Iran’s logic and principles. “Now the time has come for them to decide whether they can win our trust or not,” he added.

He further said that the experience Iran had gained during the last two wars with the US had convinced it that the latter was not trustworthy.

The speaker also thanked Pakistan for facilitating talks between the two sides.

Ghalibaf said that besides diplomacy, Iran believed in taking on its opponent militarily in order to defend the rights of the people of Iran.

Earlier, 24News TV channel, while quoting Iran's foreign ministry, reported that no one had any expectation that the talks with the United States would be fruitful in just one session.

"Naturally, from the beginning we should not have expected to reach an agreement in a single session. No one had such an expectation," the ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, said, according to a state broadcaster, IRIB.

He said Tehran was "confident that contacts between us and Pakistan, as well as our other friends in the region, will continue".
