Police investigating the Mir Raza murder case have expanded their inquiry into different aspects of the incident, with members of the newly formed investigation team assigned specific responsibilities, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to sources, SSP Ali Raza is examining and reviewing evidence collected from the crime scene. DSP Hanif and Inspector Ghazanfar are working on crime scene evidence and geofencing as part of the investigation.
SP Investigation Qais Khan has been given responsibility for examining digital currency transactions and other digital evidence. SP Investigation Anam Tajammul is handling medical and legal matters related to the case.
Sources said Anam Tajammul is also examining the post-mortem findings, exhumation proceedings and laboratory reports linked to the investigation.
The investigation team has also contacted the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency regarding digital evidence. The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee is already providing technical support to the investigators.
Police officials are continuing to examine the available evidence as the new team works to establish the facts surrounding Mir Raza's death.
On the other hand, Mir Raza's family demanded the authorities take legal action against the negligence of the former investigation team.
