Applications for 2026 scholarships close on 31 August: Bi-national supervised degree programmes are also available
Applications have opened for fully funded DAAD scholarship programmes for PhD study and research in Germany, according to the Higher Education Commission.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the HEC said scholars holding MS or MPhil degrees would be eligible to apply for PhD and research programmes in Germany.
The deadline for applications has been set for 31 August 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online through the DAAD website.
The scholarship opportunities include full PhD programmes, short-term research grants and bi-national supervised degree programmes.
Short-term research opportunities lasting between two and 12 months are also available under the programme.
Candidates can also apply for bi-national supervised programmes lasting between seven and 24 months.
The HEC has advised interested applicants to review the eligibility requirements and submit their applications through the DAAD's online application system before the deadline.
