Three people, including Chief Muqaddam Alamgir Kosh, were killed when unidentified armed men opened fire at a guesthouse in Sadiqabad, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the local police, the attack took place within the jurisdiction of the Ahmedpur Lamma police station.
Police officials said the victims included Alamgir Kosh, his guard, and the young son of the guesthouse owner.
The attackers fled the scene after the shooting, causing fear and concern in the area, police said.
According to police, Alamgir Kosh and his guard were from Ghilpur in Sindh.
The bodies of all three victims were taken to Civil Hospital Sadiqabad for further legal procedures.
Police reached the scene after receiving information about the attack and began collecting evidence. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The inspector general of Punjab Police has taken notice of the incident and sought report from the Sadiqabad police authorities.
