Four drug traffickers belonging to the same family were gunned down, while their three accomplices escaped during a police encounter in Muridke, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to details, after receiving credible information, a Crime Control Department (CCD) team raided a location Muridke near Lahore.
The accused were supplying narcotics to drug-dealers in Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib.
During the raid, the accused opened fire on the CCD team. During the exchange of fire, four people, including a man, his two sons, and their cousin, died.
The deceased were later identified as Faisal Abbas, son of Jaffar, Nasir son of Bashir, and Bashir son of Nausher, residents of Faisalabad.
Police recovered nine kilograms of narcotics from their possession.
CCD team said that the three accused fled from the scene. Later, the CCD team shifted the dead bodies to the hospital for autopsy.
Police started a search operation to apprehend the culprits and expanded their scope of investigation.
