Amid poor visibility Motorway M5 closed from Multan to Zahir Peer due to fog on Friday evening, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Motorways and Highways Department’s spokesperson said motorway was closed for the safety of the commuters.
The travelers were advised that lane violations in fog can lead to dangerous accidents. Road users should strictly follow lane discipline. Urban residents should prefer traveling during daylight hours.
Syed Imran Ahmed, Spokesperson Motorway Police advised the citizen that during winter season, safe travel times in fog are from 10 am to 6 pm. He said that drivers must use fog lights. He advised drivers not to resort to speed, keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
