The closing ceremony of the Sundar Premier League Cricket Tournament was held at Sundar Industrial Estate, where Chairman PIEDMC Javed Iqbal attended as chief guest and distributed prizes and certificates among players and coaches.
Eighteen teams from various industrial units of the estate took part in the tournament, organised by PIEDMC. A large number of spectators turned out to watch the matches throughout the event.
Chairman PIEDMC Javed Iqbal and international umpire Aleem Dar presented awards to the winning and runner-up teams, as well as their coaches and field staff. President PIEDMC Muhammad Ahmed Khan, Shahzad Azam Khan, Moaz Mahmood and several industrialists were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Javed Iqbal praised the participating teams for their dedication, discipline and sportsmanship. He said sports help individuals embrace both victory and defeat with dignity. He added that PIEDMC’s mission goes beyond industrial development, as the organisation supports initiatives that promote positive engagement among youth.
He said the promotion of sports contributes to a healthy society and helps develop confident and active human resources for industries. Javed Iqbal also paid tribute to Aleem Dar for his services for children with thalassemia.
