Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) chief Fazlur Rehman phoned former president Asif Ali Zardari and enquired after him, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
According to sources, the two leaders talked about the ongoing political situation and the PDM’s campaign against the government.
Asif Ali Zardari assured Fazlur Rehman of standing by the opposition on the issue of no-trust motion. Fazl said the government allies will be contacted soon.
The PDM decided to file a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan at a moot with Fazlur Rehman in the chair.
Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz, Rana Sanaullah, Saad Rafique, and Akram Durrani were also present in the PDM meeting. Ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, Akhtar Mengal, and Aftab Ahmad Sherpao also participated through a video link.
