More than 200 wedding guests were hospitalized after consuming unhygienic food at a wedding ceremony which was held in Raiwind near Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to details, a citizen booked The Hallmark Marquee located at Shanu Roundabout for wedding ceremony. More than 360 guests were invited to attend the event.
After having food, as many as 200 people became unconscious due to food poisoning who were immediately shifted to nearby hospital.
Host Sarfraz said that nine guests were later shifted to General Hospital after their condition turned serious and 27 guests were admitted to Indus Hospital in Raiwind.
About 10 guests were taken to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Kasur while 31 guests were shifted to government and private hospitals in Narowal.
Later, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) forwarded a petition to local police for registration of case against the management of the marquee.
The police also arrested the manager of the marquee and started investigation. Local police assured that necessary action will be taken as per law against the management of the marquee.
On the other hand, some people who were admitted in different hospital were discharged after their condition was declared as stable.
