The government has agreed to a key demand regarding the medical treatment of the founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, after developments linked to his health and Supreme Court orders, sources said on Thursday.
According to sources, the government has accepted Aleema Khan’s request about the treatment of the PTI founder. It has also agreed to the name of the ophthalmologist from a private institution proposed by Imran Khan and Aleema Khan.
Sources revealed that there is a possibility of shifting the founding chairman and former prime minister to a private welfare institution specializing in ophthalmology for treatment.
The private institution has been informed about the potential transfer, while the designated ophthalmologist has also been notified regarding the treatment plan.
Sources added that the institution has been instructed to make necessary arrangements in view of the possible arrival of Imran Khan.
