Etihad Airways has achieved a historic milestone, carrying 22.4 million passengers in 2025, marking the highest annual figure in the airline’s history and a 21% increase compared to 2024, according to WAM.
The airline’s passenger load factor for the year reached 88.3%, up two percentage points from the previous year, highlighting strong demand across its network. December alone saw 2.2 million passengers, a 28% rise compared to December 2024, with a load factor of 87.6%.
Etihad also expanded its operating fleet to 127 aircraft, adding 29 new planes during 2025—the largest single-year fleet expansion in the airline’s history.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonwaldo Nieves said, “2025 proved to be a year of growth for the airline, with more than 22 million passengers carried, the highest annual figure in the airline’s history. With the largest fleet in history, currently comprising 127 aircraft, Etihad Airways is well positioned to welcome more passengers to Abu Dhabi.”
The record-breaking year underscores Etihad Airways’ continued growth and commitment to enhancing connectivity to and from the UAE.
