A lower court on Monday sentenced a man to death on two counts for killing his wife and son in Hujra Shah Muqeem, police said.
According to police, Additional Sessions Judge Mustahsan Ahmed awarded the death sentence to the accused, Mansha, after finding him guilty of killing his wife and son in 2023. The murders took place in village Dograi following a domestic dispute.
The court imposed a fine of Rs0.5 million on the convict. In case of non-payment of the fine, Mansha will have to undergo three years of rigorous imprisonment, police added.
District Police Officer Rashid Hidayat said that murderers do not deserve any concession. He congratulated the investigating officer Azmat Naseem and the prosecution legal team on securing the conviction.
