Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) is set to announce its verdict on July 16 on Dr. Yasmin Rashid's bail applications in two cases related to May 9 tragedy, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid has filed bail pleas in two cases concerning the alleged arson of police vehicles near Jinnah House. She submitted her bail applications from jail. The hearing was conducted by ATC Administrative Judge Manzar Ali Gul.
According to the officials, the court said it will issue its decision on two of Cheema’s bail applications on July 16, and the verdict on the remaining two cases will be announced on July 19.
Moreover, former Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema appeared for bail hearings in four separate cases. After the completion of arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict on Cheema's bail applications. Umar Sarfraz Cheema has filed bail in five cases of burning police vehicles near Zaman Park, Mughal Pura, and Jinnah House. His applications have also been filed from jail. These cases stem from the violent incidents following the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan on May 9, which led to widespread unrest and damage to public property.
Meanwhile, ATC continued jail trial of six accused in Sherpao Bridge Arson. The jail trial of six cases, including arson, rioting, and inflammatory speeches at Sherpao Bridge, held on Saturday at Kot Lakhpat Jail. The hearing was conducted by Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Arshad Javed in Kot at Lakhpat Jai.
During the proceedings, defense counsel completed cross-examination of five prosecution witnesses in the Sherpao Bridge speeches and arson case. According to the official, witnesses appeared in two cases regarding the burning of the office of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The Proceedings also took place in cases related to the burning of containers in National Park Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, and police vehicles in Gulberg. Dr. Yasmin Rashid and other detained PTI leaders were present, and their attendance was marked in jail. On behalf of the accused, Barrister Taimur Malik, Rana Mudassar Umar, and Mian Ali Ammar Advocate appeared before the court.
