A total of 74,474 people intending to travel abroad were offloaded from Pakistani airports over the past three years by the law enforcement agencies, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to official documents, the FIA offloaded 39,786 passengers, while 34,688 others were prevented from travelling by various agencies and institutions.
According to the records, 30,021 passengers were offloaded by different airlines, while 3,617 travellers voluntarily cancelled or abandoned their journeys.
Another 40 passengers were stopped by the Pakistan Customs, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), or the Airport Security Force (ASF).
The FIA documents showed that the most common reason for offloading was the lack of required travel documents, affecting 20,408 passengers.
Another 12,673 people were offloaded due to low-profile or suspicious travel plans, while 3,450 passengers were stopped because their names appeared on the stop list.
The records further stated that 505 travellers were offloaded for using incorrect travel routes, 281 for carrying forged or fake documents, and 176 because of unsatisfactory travel histories.
In addition, 145 passengers were offloaded for document verification, 258 due to being underage, and 24 people were stopped after authorities suspected they intended to seek employment abroad while travelling on visit visas.
The figures highlight the FIA's continued efforts to curb illegal migration, document fraud, and human smuggling through stricter scrutiny of outbound passengers at airports across the country.
