Government employees have announced to stage a protest in front of the Parliament House on the occasion of the presentation of the federal budget 2026-27 in Islamabad today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The employees will also march from Pak Secretariat Chowk to Parliament House, while for the last two days they have been protesting in front of the Ministry of Finance in favour of their demands.
A march to Parliament House will begin after the arrival of government employees from the provinces.
A heavy contingent of police has been deployed for the security of the government employees’ protest.
Chief Organizer of Agisga Reman Bajwa announced that the protest will be held in front of Parliament House until the demands are approved.
According to their demands, government employees' demands should be included in the federal budget 2026-27.
Immediate implementation of all the provisions of the agreement of March 10, 2025 should be ensured.
All ad hoc relief allowances should be merged into the basic salary and pay scale 2026 should be introduced.
100 percent ad hoc relief allowance 2026 should be included in the salaries of government employees.
Salaries of employees drawing less than Rs50,000 should be increased by 50 percent.
Conveyance, medical and house rent allowances should be increased by 200 percent.
Pension reforms should be withdrawn, the current pension system should be maintained.
Another 30 percent disparity reduction allowance should be given to reduce the disparity in salaries.
The employees demanded to abolish 25 percent tax slab for teachers and researchers and return the deducted amount.
Immediate steps should be taken for the regularization of daily wages and contract employees.
Restore the recruitment of children of employees who died during service.
Joint committees should be formed for the institutions included in the privatization list.
The monthly salary of government employees should be fixed at a minimum of Rs50,000.
