Former prime minister and incarcerated founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan was shifted from Adiala Jail to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Thursday for a medical examination, sources said.
According to sources, the PTI founder was transported from Adiala Jail to PIMS under stringent security arrangements.
Hospital sources said the visit was primarily aimed at conducting an examination of his eyes and assessing his medical condition.
Security at PIMS was placed on high alert ahead of the arrival, with additional security personnel deployed in and around the hospital premises.
Sources at the hospital said an official statement regarding the PTI founder's medical examination and treatment was expected to be issued by PIMS authorities.
No further details regarding the medical assessment were immediately available.
The PTI founder remains incarcerated at Adiala Jail in connection with multiple legal cases.
