Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is expected to undertake a three-day visit to Switzerland along with a high-level delegation, sources said on Friday.
According to sources, Dar is likely to attend the signing ceremony of the proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, which is expected to mark a significant breakthrough in ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between the two countries.
Sources said a high-level Pakistani delegation will accompany the deputy prime minister during the visit.
The visit is expected to begin late Friday night or early Saturday, with Dar scheduled to participate in meetings and engagements related to the evolving diplomatic process.
During his stay in Switzerland, the deputy prime minister is also expected to hold meetings with senior Swiss officials and discuss matters of mutual interest, regional developments and ongoing diplomatic initiatives.
The expected visit comes amid reports of significant progress in negotiations between Washington and Tehran, with Pakistan playing an active role in facilitating dialogue and supporting efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region.
However, officials have yet to issue a formal announcement regarding the visit or the proposed US-Iran agreement. Sources said further details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
