The Supreme Court has decided to allow journalists holding valid Press Information Department (PID) or Press Club Cards to enter the court complex during designated hours, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to an official statement, accredited journalists will be permitted to enter the Supreme Court premises from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The decision marked a significant change in the court’s media access policy.
Previously, entry was restricted mainly to designated beat reporters covering judicial affairs.
The Supreme Court said the revised arrangement aims to facilitate broader media coverage of court proceedings and improve access for journalists performing their professional duties.
Under the new policy, all journalists possessing valid PID or Press Club identification cards will be eligible to enter the court premises during the specified hours, subject to applicable security protocols and regulations.
