Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has claimed that billions of rupees were due with Federal government from KP’s share under NFC Award as well as FATA districts merger accords, therefore KP government will take up financial dues issue with Federal Government in an effective way, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chairing a high level meeting regarding KP’s financial issues and funds due with Centre, CM Gandapur ordered the concerned authorities to prepare a plan of action regarding financial dues issue.
CM Gandapur was briefed that KP government owed Rs1510 billion rupees to the Federation in terms of net profits of hydropower. The provincial government has arrears of Rs6 billion in electricity sold to the NEPRA.
Moreover, issue of FATA’s merger funds with the Centre was still unresolved.
The CM was told that as per percentage of population, KP government’s share under NFC stands at 19.6 percent while currently KP government was getting share of only 14.16 percent. Under new population percentage, KP government due share was Rs262 billion rupees per year.
While under merger of Fata district, KP government has to receive 500 billion rupees while KP government got only Rs 100 billion.
CM Gandapur told that meeting that a plan of action should be prepared under the guidance of experts in this regard within a month.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that first of all KP government will raise this issue with federal government while in case of cold response from Centre, KP government will knock the door of apex court.
