Former prime minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has expressed his grief over the loss of lives in the recent attacks on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan. He condemned the cowardly acts of terrorism, asserting that such attacks would not undermine Pakistan’s peace and security, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Nawaz said, "I am deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives in the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express." He added, "These cowardly acts cannot sabotage Pakistan’s peace and security."
Nawaz extended his condolences to the families of the victims, saying, "In this time of sorrow, my sympathies are with the families of the martyrs. May Allah raise their ranks and grant speedy recovery to the injured." Security sources confirmed that the operation against the militants responsible for the attack has entered its final stages, with all the terrorists reportedly killed.
Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met Pakistan Muslim League-N President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today. They discussed overall political situation of the country, party affairs and parliamentary matters. The Speaker briefed PML-N President about the ongoing session of the National Assembly, legislative process and the performance of the first parliamentary year of the 16th National Assembly. Nawaz Sharif emphasized supremacy of Parliament, law making in public interest and strengthening of democracy. He said only a strong parliament can contribute to political stability and public welfare in the country.
