Additional SHO Bahar Ali, who had been injured while foiling a bid to rob a bank at Warsak Road in Peshawar on March 6, succumbed to his wounds, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
His funeral prayers were offered with official honours at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.
IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Zulfiqar Hameed, CCPO Peshawar and the officers of Pakistan Army offered the prayers.
A police contingent presented a salute to the martyred officer.
Speaking on the occasion, KP IGP, while paying rich tributes to Ali for his courage and valour, said that the police personnel would continue to lay down their lives for peace in the province.
He said that the sacrifice given by the police officer would not go in vain and the Force was committed to foiling the designs of lawless elements.
Later, the IGP met with the family of the deceased and offered his condolences.
