Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves rise to nearly $21.6 billion

The country’s foreign exchange reserves recorded an increase during the latest reporting week, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The central bank said its own reserves rose by $41.1 million, taking the total to $16.34 billion.

At the same time, reserves held by commercial banks increased by $123.3 million, reaching $5.257 billion.

Overall, Pakistan’s total foreign exchange reserves increased by $164 million during the period, bringing the combined reserves to nearly $21.6 billion.

The data reflects the latest position of the country’s external reserves maintained by the State Bank and commercial banks.
