The Sindh government has imposed Section 144 across the province, including Karachi, for one month, banning rallies, public gatherings, and processions, according to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, under the new order, gatherings of more than five people at one place have been prohibited throughout Sindh. The restriction will remain in force for a month.
The notification states that the decision was taken on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Sindh Police, while Rangers had also suggested the imposition of Section 144 on October 11 in view of the deteriorating law and order situation.
As per the notification, sit-ins, rallies, public meetings, and demonstrations have been banned across the province to maintain peace and prevent unrest.
