CM Maryam visits flood hit areas in Liaquatpur

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reached flood affected area of Bat Zahir Pir Band, a suburb of Liaquatpur, in the Rahim Yar Khan District, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The CM received families arriving in boats and rafts at Manchin Dam and helped flood-affected women to get off from the boat. She appreciated the rescue and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) teams and also declared the use of life jackets and life rings mandatory in rescue operations.

CM Maryam was briefed on evacuation operation, the flood affected 35 villages in Noorwala, Gul Muhammad Langah, Dera Faridi and Chauhan, a suburb of Liaquatpur and a population of 84,721 people and an area of 43 square kilometers were affected too.

Moreover, 6 relief camps, medical camps for flood victims. 3 clinics on boats. 12 clinics on wells are established and so far, 12604 people have been evacuated from flood-affected areas near Bat Zahir Pir and 488 cattle have also been moved to safe places during rescue operation. Total of 52 rescue and police boats deployed for rescue operations in flood-affected areas of Gul Muhammad Langah.
