In the fourth match of the T20I Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan bundled Oman out by a resounding margin of 93 runs at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Batting first, Pakistan set a competitive total of 160 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Haris led from the front with aggressive stroke play, ensuring that Pakistan posted a target of 161 runs for Oman.
In reply, Oman’s batting lineup collapsed against Pakistan’s fiery bowling attack, crumbling for just 67 runs in 16.4 overs.
Only Hammad Mirza showed some resistance, scoring 27 runs, while the rest of the batsmen failed to reach double figures, highlighting Oman’s batting struggles against high-quality bowling.
Pakistan’s bowlers shared the spoils effectively. Saim Ayub, along with pacer Sufiyan Muqeem and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, claimed two wickets apiece.
Star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with one wicket each, ensuring no room for Oman’s batsmen to recover.
The victory, driven by both solid batting and disciplined bowling, earned wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris the “Man of the Match” award for his impressive performance.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and chose to bat, fielding a balanced XI against the Omani side.
The Green Shirts posted 160 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
The innings was anchored by Mohammad Haris, who played a fine knock of 66 runs, while Sahibzada Farhan contributed 29.
Fakhar Zaman remained unbeaten on 23, adding crucial runs towards the end.
Among other batters, Mohammad Nawaz scored 19 and Hassan Nawaz added 9 before being dismissed.
However, skipper Salman Ali Agha and young opener Saim Ayub fell without troubling the scorers.
Oman’s bowling attack kept Pakistan in check with disciplined performances.
Aamer Kaleem was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for 31 runs, while Faisal Shah also impressed, taking three wickets for 34.
Mohammad Nadeem chipped in with one wicket.
With a target of 161 on the board, Oman now face a stiff challenge against Pakistan’s bowling lineup.
This will be the first game of the tournament for both teams, and they will be looking to get off to a positive start in the mega tournament.
Pakistan will be riding high on confidence after winning the United Arab Emirates T20I Tri-Series 2025.
