Mamya questioned why an actor alone is blamed for a particular look when several people can be involved in deciding what a celebrity wears for a project. She highlighted the role of production teams, stylists, designers and the requirements of a character when it comes to an actor’s appearance.
The actress also spoke about how quickly conversations around clothing can turn into harsh personal judgments. She pointed out that people may make serious assumptions about a woman simply because of what she chooses to wear, despite knowing very little about her private life or personal circumstances.
Mamya’s comments went beyond ordinary fashion criticism. She argued that the discussion can become much more troubling when a woman’s clothing is used to judge her character or even determine how she should be treated.
