Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Agency Lahore has initiated an inquiry into alleged defamatory content circulating on social media against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Imran Manj, 24newsHD TV reported on Monday.
According to an official notice, the agency has summoned a suspect, identified as Faraz Adeem, to appear in person on April 17 in connection with the case.
The inquiry was launched following a complaint filed by Rana Imran Manj, who requested legal action over what he described as fabricated and baseless allegations targeting him online.
A notice has been formally issued to the suspect, directing him to present himself before the agency.
The notice was duly signed by Sub-Inspector Nabeel Hussain of the cybercrime reporting unit Lahore.
Officials said the probe is at an initial stage and aims to determine the veracity of the claims and whether any violations of cybercrime laws have occurred.
