PPP forms board to pick candidates for Gilgit-Baltistan Elections 2026

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) on Monday formed a 10-member parliamentary board to oversee the distribution of party tickets for the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan general elections 2026.

According to party sources, the board will be responsible for evaluating candidates and finalising nominations for various constituencies in the region.

The parliamentary board includes prominent party leaders such as Faryal Talpur, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and Muhammad Humayun Khan.

Other members of the board are Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Amjad Hussain Azar.

The remaining members include Engineer Muhammad Ismail, Imran Nadeem, Jamil Ahmed and Bashir Ahmed.

The formation of the parliamentary board is part of PPP’s preparations for the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, aimed at strengthening the party’s position in the region.
