Zoheb Hassan, on his sister Nazia Hassan’s 25th death anniversary, asked fans to pray for her.
Zoheb shared Nazia’s photo on Instagram with a very heart-touching caption: “Today seems like yesterday and yesterday seems like today and the memory painfully lives on... Nazia Hassan's Death Anniversary is on 13th August... please pray for her.”
Her fans, reminiscing about the old times, prayed for the departed soul.
Nazia was the first Pakistani to win a Filmfare award for her international debut with the song Aap Jaisa Koi in the Bollywood movie Qurbani in 1980.
Later, alongside her brother Zoheb, Nazia released a series of successful albums that shaped the modern Pakistani pop music scene.
Their debut album Disco Deewane became a record-breaking sensation, selling millions of copies in more than a dozen countries, followed by hits like Boom Boom, Young Tarang, and Hotline, which cemented her status as the “Queen of Pop” in Pakistan.
Nazia was born on April 3, 1965, in Karachi. She earned herself a massive fan base across the world. By the time she stepped away from the music industry, her records had sold an estimated 6.5 million cassettes worldwide. Tragically, she passed away on August 13, 2000, in London at the age of 35 losing the battle to cancer.
