Due to the personal interest and efforts of the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, the Kachhi Canal project has reached its final stages of completion, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Friday.
According to the report, the Kachhi Canal Project is a 499-kilometre-long irrigation initiative. The canal now delivers 1,000 cusecs of water to Balochistan, released from Taunsa on November 15.
This development follows the formal inauguration of water release into the Kachhi Canal by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in November this year.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and Provincial Irrigation Minister Mir Sadiq Umrani have taken a keen interest in advancing the project.
Farmers from the Green Belt area expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Bugti and Irrigation Minister Umrani for this revolutionary initiative.
