Punjab government will launch national anti-polio campaign across the province during December 15-30, 2025.
Online meeting of the Provincial Task Force for Polio Eradication chaired by Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir and attended by Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Focal Person Punjab Chief Minister for Polio Azma Kardar attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioners, Secretaries of Home, Health, Education Departments, International Representatives Working for Polio Eradication also attended the meeting.
Kh Imran congratulated all officers including Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, CEOs Health and Polio Teams for achieving the targets of polio eradication. The meeting reviewed the arrangements for the polio eradication campaign starting from December 15.
Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir instructed the concerned authorities to provide complete security to the polio teams.
The minister said in order to prevent the spread of the virus, it is essential to give every child the vaccine.
Khawaja Imran Nazir said special attention should be paid to the coverage of missing children. The head of Polio Eradication Program Punjab Adeel Taswar gave a detailed briefing to the meeting. He told that more than 23.3 million children will be vaccinated during the anti-polio campaign. He said more than two lakh polio workers will serve in the campaign.
