Polling was under way on Saturday across the country in elections for 23 seats of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), the final result will be declared on December 22, 2025, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Fourteen candidates from Sindh are contesting the elections for six seats, and 10 candidates are contesting from Karachi.
Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahsan Bhoon, former President of Lahore High Court Bar Association Hafeezur Rehman, Pir Masood Chisti, Tahir Nasrullah Warraich, Saqib Ikram are contesting the elections from Punjab.
The 75 members of the Punjab Bar Council will elect 11 members of the Pakistan Bar Council.
Senator Farooq H Naek, Salahuddin Ahmad, Munir Ahmad Malik, Shahab Sarki, Nadeem Qureshi, Abid Zuberi, Rana Mohammad Shamim, Muzaffar Ali Leghari, Abdul Jabbar Qureshi, and Mohammad Saleem Mangar are contesting elections from Karachi.
The polling station is established at the Advocate-General's Office in Karachi. The polling will conclude at 4 pm.
The vote-counting process will start on December 17, 2025, and the final result will be announced on December 22, 2025.
