Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has plunged into a financial crisis, prompting the party leadership to seek monetary support from its elected representatives, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to a letter issued by PTI Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi, the party has directed all its parliamentarians to contribute 10% of their monthly salaries to the party fund.
The letter, circulated among MNAs, senators and MPAs, also instructs each lawmaker to deposit a fixed amount of Rs50,000 every month to help meet organisational expenses.
Naqvi wrote that the party urgently requires funds to sustain its ongoing political and organisational activities, urging lawmakers to send the required contributions within 72 hours.
