After beefing up security at Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Model Town 96-H and Defence residences, security at Jati Umra has also been heightened, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Lahore police have doubled the number of police officials and vehicles. For internal security and outside the residence, 207 police officers and officials will perform duties along with four vehicles for patrolling.
The officers and officials who will perform security duty at PM’s Jati Umra residence include police, Elite Force and Rangers personnel.
123 constables and police inspectors will be guarding the Jati Umra residence. For an emergency situation, 76 personnel of Elite Force will remain alert with four vehicles.
Police sources said that eight Rangers officials with one vehicle will also be part of security team.
Prior to this, 60 security officials of police were guarding the Jati Umra citadel.
Sources further said that Rs 125million had been spent to purchase equipment to make the security foolproof at two residences of the prime minister.
