The Supreme Court of Pakistan is set to hear multiple high-profile cases involving the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan on February 18.
According to details, six cases related to Khan, who is founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have been scheduled for hearing, along with one case each concerning Bushra Bibi and Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar and comprising Justice Salahuddin Panhor and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim will take up the cases. The bench was constituted by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi on February 9.
Among the cases scheduled for hearing is an appeal against the Islamabad High Court decision in the Tosha Khana criminal case, in which the sentence was suspended instead of setting it aside.
The court will also hear the Punjab government’s appeals against the bail granted to the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi. Additionally, a hearing has been fixed on the appeal against the acquittal of the PTI founder and Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case.
The government’s appeal against the PTI founder’s bail in the May 9 Lahore cases will also be taken up, along with the PTI founder’s appeals against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the defamation case.
