The woes of the Pakistan Railways continued to multiply as two passenger trains derailed separately in Karachi on Friday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sukkur Expresses went off the track on Drug Road in Karachi, effectively derailing three coaches on down track.
This led to the closure of the down track.
Hours earlier, another passenger train – Hazara Express – also sent off the track in Malir 15 area. The train derailed on the up track.
There was no loss of life and repair was launched immediately to restore the track.
A Pakistan Railways spokesman said the trains have been halted on down and up tracks. The trains will be allowed to come to Karachi through a single line, he added.
