Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of former Pakistani cricketer and ex-chief selector Mohammad Ilyas, 24NewsHD TV reported.
In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
He said that Mohammad Ilyas served Pakistan cricket with dedication and honor.

“May Allah Almighty grant patience to the bereaved family and bless the departed soul with a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous,” the prime minister said.
In a separate statement issued by the Aiwan-e-Sadr media wing, President Asif Ali Zardari also conveyed his condolences, praying for patience and strength for the grieving family.
The president said that Mohammad Ilyas’s contributions to Pakistan cricket will always be remembered, acknowledging his role in serving and promoting the sport.
