Punjab Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat on Tuesday barred teachers from performing polio duty and directed them to focus on their primary responsibility of imparting education, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The provincial minister directed that no teacher will be allowed to perform polio duty during anti-polio campaigns.
A post on the official Facebook page of a school shows a snippet that says, "Polio Duties are Off for Teachers," with Rana Sikandar Hayat tagged in the post.
This indicates a decision has been made to relieve teachers of this specific responsibility, likely to allow them to focus entirely on their primary educational duties in schools.
This move is part of broader educational reforms he is implementing in Punjab. The goal is to maximize teaching time and improve the quality of education in government schools.
