Fiza Ali was overcome with emotion while speaking about the tragic and deeply disturbing circumstances surrounding the death of Humaira Asghar Ali.
Appearing on her morning show, Morning with Fiza Ali, the host broke down in tears while recalling the once-vibrant artist’s lonely and untimely demise.
“Why was Humaira – a daughter, an artist, and a human being – left alone? Why did no one come to her rescue?” she asked as her voice trembled with grief.
The decomposed body of the 32-year-old was discovered last week in her Karachi apartment, with reports suggesting she may have passed away eight to ten months ago.
The tragedy took an even darker turn when Humaira’s father reportedly refused to claim her body, saying: “Do whatever you want with her body. We will not receive it.”
Using her platform to highlight the broader issues the case has exposed, Fiza Ali stressed the urgent need to address mental health struggles, social isolation, and the fragile support systems that often fail independent women.
“This isn’t just about Humaira,” she said. “It’s about every child who is abandoned ... every soul left to bear the pain alone.”
She strongly criticised societal attitudes that abandon and disown individuals instead of offering empathy and understanding.
“Parents must stand by their children, no matter the circumstances. It is their duty. When children fall into tragedy, society must examine its failures,” she added.
Citing Islamic teachings, Fiza noted that compassion and responsibility toward family are core tenets of faith.
She questioned how a society that claims to uphold moral and religious values could allow an artist, someone who once brought joy to many, to be forgotten so cruelly.
“Let’s not wait for another tragedy,” she urged. “Let us embrace the broken before it’s too late. We must learn to listen to the silence of those who suffer quietly.”
