The Princess of Wales was visibly moved as she received a rousing standing ovation while entering the Royal Box at Centre Court during the Wimbledon women's final.

Kate, who is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, marked her graceful return to public life following her ongoing battle with cancer. Dressed in an elegant cream ensemble featuring a high-collared belted top and flowing skirt, the royal waved warmly at the crowd as applause echoed across the stadium.

On her way to her seat, the Princess exchanged pleasantries with several notable guests, including tennis legend Billie Jean King, whom she greeted with a handshake.

Her presence was especially poignant for American finalist Amanda Anisimova, who Kate consoled after suffering a crushing 6-0, 6-0 defeat at the hands of Iga Swiatek, the fastest and most one-sided women’s final since 1911.

Despite the loss, Anisimova expressed her admiration for Kate, saying, “It was such an honour to meet her. I wasn’t sure if she would be there today, so it was really nice to see her.”

At the trophy ceremony, Kate presented the championship trophy to Swiatek and offered kind words of encouragement to Anisimova, urging her to “keep her head high.”

The royal’s appearance was met with excitement both on and off the court, with the official Wimbledon account sharing the moment and writing: “Centre Court rises to give a warm welcome to our Patron HRH The Princess of Wales.”
