PTI leader and former Punjab minister Ali Afzal Sahi was arrested in by police in Islamabad on Tuesday in connection with a terrorism case registered against him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Ali Afzal Sahi was arrested from outside the Judicial Complex in the federal capital where he came to secure bail in the case registered at Golra Police Station of Islamabad.
Though the anti-terrorism court extended the interim bail of the PTI leader until July 3, but after he came out of the court, the Islamabad police arrested him in connection with other cases registered against him.
Mehmoodur Rashid’s judicial remand extended
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Tuesday extended the judicial remand of senior PTI leader Mian Mehmoodur Rashid for another 14 days.
The PTI leader was produced in the court in connection with torching the Shadman Police Station case.
The court ordered the police to bring back the accused to the court on June 27.
Ex-MNA, son quit PTI
Former PTI MNA from Sargodha Amir Sultan Cheema and his son former MPA and ticket-holder Muneeb Sultan Cheema have announced to quit the party.
The father-son duo in a video message condemned the May 9 violence.
PTI women leader quits politics
PTI Women Wing Multan President Asifa Saleem also said goodbye to the party and quit politics.
In a video message, she strongly condemned violent incidents of May 9. “I have always been a supporter of peaceful and honourable politics,” she added.
