As the final week of Ramazan unfolds, bazaars and shopping streets across Pakistan are buzzing with energy, with families flocking to prepare for Eidul Fitr.
Men, women, and children crowded colorful stalls in markets and malls, hunting for traditional outfits, bangles, jewelry, and footwear. Festive streetlights and vibrant shop displays have turned late-night shopping into a lively celebration.
Shoppers expressed delight at the festive atmosphere. “Every year, we look forward to these last nights of Ramazan to pick something special for the family,” said Ayesha Khan, a regular visitor in Lahore.
Parents guided children through crowded stalls, while friends compared outfits and shared tips on the best deals. Children giggled and explored vibrant displays, making shopping a joyous family experience.
Vendors welcomed the surge in customers. Tariq Ali, a jewelry shop owner, said, “Ramazan’s final days are always the busiest. Sales pick up after iftar, and months of preparation pay off when families enjoy shopping together.”
High demand was reported for traditional attire, matching footwear, and colorful bangles, especially intricate Kashmiri designs, which remained a must-have for women and girls this year.
Footwear shops were particularly busy, with men browsing traditional Peshawari chappals and women hunting for matching khussas. From Dera Ghazi Khan to Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, markets were filled with laughter, chatter, and the jingling of bangles, reflecting the nationwide excitement for Eid.
Long queues and crowded aisles highlighted the enduring festive spirit, as shoppers carefully selected outfits and accessories to make Eid celebrations memorable.
The combination of vibrant stalls, family outings, and late-night shopping has transformed Pakistan’s markets into a spectacular Eid spectacle.
