Two accused were gunned down during police encounters in Lahore and Faisalabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The first police encounter took place in the Township area of Lahore, in which a Crime Control Department (CCD) team was taking an accused, Saifullah, for recovery when his accomplices suddenly attacked the CCD team.
During heavy exchange of fire, Saifullah received serious bullet injuries and was being shifted to the hospital, but he died.
His accomplices escaped from the scene, taking advantage of the darkness. Police shifted the dead body of Saifullah to the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.
The second police encounter occurred in the Jhumra area of Faisalabad, in which one drug-peddler was killed.
According to details, Incharge Crime Control Department (CCD), Ali Ikram Goraya, raided a location to arrest the drug peddler.
After noticing the CCD team, the drug peddlers opened fire on the police team. In retaliation, the CCD team and the drug-peddler Shafiq, died after receiving bullets.
Police said that the accused was nominated in more than dozens of cases. After the firing, all accomplices of the accused escaped from the scene.
Police shifted the dead body of a drug peddler to the hospital’s mortuary and started a search operation to apprehend the colleagues of the accused.
