Pakistan’s petroleum levy collection rose 45% during the first nine months of fiscal year 2025-26, strengthening the country’s fiscal position as budget negotiations with the International Monetary Fund started, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Wednesday.
Official fiscal operations data show petroleum levy collection reached ₨1.205 trillion during July-March FY26, an increase of ₨371 billion compared to the same period last year.
A separate collection of Rs 37.27 billion in carbon levy in the first 9 months of the fiscal year was also recorded.
The petroleum levy collection target for the current fiscal year is set at Rs 1468.395 billion. In the last fiscal year, the collection of petroleum levy was 1220 billion and 213 million.
As per the official documents, Rs1019 billion were received under the head of petroleum development levy, and in fiscal year 202-24, the collection of petroleum development levy was Rs580 billion.
