An additional and sessions judge of Lahore on Monday rejected a bail petition of Gogi Butt in the murder case of underworld don Ameer Balaj, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As the case was being heard, Gogi Butt and his lawyer failed to appear in the court. In the last hearing, the court ordered Gogi Butt's lawyers to ensure their presence in the court on next hearing.
During the proceedings of the case, the court summoned him four times. He was called first at 8 am, second at 8.30 am, third at 9 am, and fourth at 10 am.
The CTD Investigation Officer (IO) Mohammad Latif was present in the court.
After Gogi’s failure to appear, the court announced its verdict and rejected his bail petition.
During the last hearing, the court extended the interim bail of Khawaja Aqeel, also known as Gogi Butt, in the Ameer Balaj murder case until October 13.
It may be mentioned here that notorious Punjab gangster Teefi Butt, first cousin of Gogi Butt, was killed in an alleged police encounter in Rahimyar Khan during his transfer from Dubai to Lahore on Saturday last.
According to the Crime Control Department (CCD), a gunbattle broke out between police and Teefi Butt’s accomplices within the jurisdiction of Kot Sabzal Police Station in Rahimyar Khan. Teefi Butt had been nominated in the murder case of his rival, Ameer Balaj, who was killed in 2024 during a wedding ceremony at a private housing society in Lahore.
