The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Limited (PTCL) announced on Monday that internet will be down on Oct 14.
PTCL said in a statement that the International Cable Consortium has released a schedule for the repair of the fiber optic cable laid in the sea, due to which internet service is likely to be affected across the country for about 18 hours on October 14.
According to a PTCL spokesperson, the repair work will start at 11 am on October 14, which may continue for about 18 hours. During this time, the repeater system installed in the sea cable will be repaired and technical checks will be carried out.
The spokesperson said that during the repair, users may experience a reduction in internet speed or partial disruption. The PTCL has apologized to users for this temporary inconvenience.
